What to Expect
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or port in Muscat, or any area around Muscat or Bediyah, and drive you to the tour office in Bediyah, where you'll pass some lovely areas en-route, which will already bring you down to earth.
You will be welcomed at the Bediyah office with dates and arabic coffee around 10.00 am, and then you can start crossing the dunes of Wahiba Sands desert from north to south.
The first point will be a Bedouin house where you can enjoy a camel ride and learn about race and milk camels, ahead of dunebashing. There will be plenty of stops for pictures and breaks while you continue crossing the dunes and look for a nice place to enjoy a desert sunset.
You will collect some wood for cooking dinner in a traditional way, an then relax beside the campfire under the millions of stars, and fall asleep in total peace.
After breakfast you will continue to the end of Wahiba Sand, and have a coffee break to visit the Bedouins family living in the middle of Wahiba Sand.
This will let you experience true Omani culture, explore life in that area, and learn a few Arabic words before reaching the last Bedouins village Quhaid, located on the edge of the Arabian Sea.
After lunch you will continue driving the beautiful coastline, and visit a mountain pool where you can refresh yourself and rest before driving back to your hotel.
