Starting from the bike shop where you will meet your guide and get acquainted with your set of two wheels, set of on a guided bike tour to discover the medieval origins of the city of Murcia. The first stop will be at the traditional Veronicas Market, behind which you’ll find what remains of the ancient city walls. Head towards the Paseo del Malecón promenade where you’ll cycle by the riverside back to the old quarter. The next stop will be in front of the splendid Baroque facade of the Cathedral of Murcia. This example of Spanish flamboyance was built over the course of the 14th to 18th centuries and is the main historical building of the city. By the side of the cathedral, enter into the traditional quarter of Santa Eulalia towards the church. Cycling the quiet and narrow streets, your next destination will be the Convent of La Merced. Next to the former convent, see also the Law School of the University of Murcia. The path leads next to the medieval suburb of Arrabal de la Arrixaca, heading to an archaeological site and San Esteban Palace. The tour will end back at the bike shop after coming through the forested Pólvora Garden, the former park of the Royal Gunpowder Factory.
