    Take a trip down the Romantic Road, a famous 220 mile route linking some of Bavaria's most exquisite architectural gems on a guided tour from Munich. Discover the natural beauty of the region, and the charming town of Rothenburg.

    After departure from Munich, travel first to Harburg which is one of the oldest and best-preserved castle complexes in Germany. This perfectly situated castle with its surrounding village retains the feel of the middle ages. Be enchanted by its historic flair and delve deep into its history. After visiting the castle, and pausing for coffee, you will drive on through the wondrous scenery of the Nördlinger Ries – the giant depression left by an ancient meteor in the Swabian landscape.

    Travelling via Dinkelsbühl, with its towers and spires, you will reach Rothenburg, a perfectly restored mediaeval town. Take some free time here for extensive exploration. Wander through the beautiful streets and alleyways, which are full of the charm of past times. Your return to Munich will take you through the largest hops-growing region in the world, the Hallertau.     What can i say if your going on this trip request the tour guide Paul. He had a remarkable amount of knowledge and passion for what he does. He was very polite, friendly and professional and even sang a few songs over the microphone along the way. The castle was remarkably upkept and the tour guide within the castle was very passionate about the history and culture of the castle and its surrounding lands. Rottenburg itself looked and felt like something out of a movie. Our tour guide (Paul) brought use to a delicious restaurant for lunch and we had a pleasant walk around the townand experienced the colonial drinking his beer in the town centre square. All in all this was one of the best tour experiences i have ever been on.

    Great tour. GetYourGuide is an awesome company to plan your tour with. They are very accommodating, always available on the phone to answer any questions. I only missed my discount with them as I did not understand the process, though I explained it to the rep on the phone no discount adjustments were made which is too bad as we booked 5 tours with them throughout our trip! I would suggest to this tour company to make sure that people return to their same seats on the bus as this created issues. Another tour we did in Amsterdam, they made this clear at the start of the tour. More time for shopping will be appreciated during mid-day. Visitors don't realize that most stores in Europe close at around 6 p.m. which is very frustrating.

    This was my second day trip from Munich with Gray Line Tours. We had a great day and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Harburg Castle was a nice stop but we only stayed for about 50 mins. Although it was raining we were able to stay dry and learn about the castle in detail. Rothenburg was a magnificent town and the amount of time spent there was 3 hours. Our guide provided many suggestions on how we use our free time and made a lunch reservation for those who wanted a sit-down restaurant. This tour overall was definitely not my favorite since there were not many activities planned but Rothenburg is definitely worth the visit and makes this tour special.
