If you are planning a trip to Munich and have a day to spare, I highly recommend visiting the Neuschwanstein castle on a tour! The castle is a couple hours drive from Munich and if you don't have a car, a tour is the best way to visit it. I really enjoyed this tour that also visited the Linderhof castle and both of these castles were over the top extravagant in their decor which was amazing to see. The guide was also very knowledgeable and pointed things out while we drove. Two critiques: 1. I felt a bit rushed during the whole tour. The tour had a more "hands off" approach where the guide drops you off at the castle area and then tells you what time to meet back at the bus and where. Maybe this wasn't a problem for some, but it was a bit stressful for me as, at Neuschwanstein, you have to walk 30 minutes from the bus to the castle. Overall, the timing worked out well though. 2. I do wish we saw the Hohenschwangau castle as well, but that was not part of this tour.

Very efficient and fun way to get to the Mad King’s castles. Very nice information from our guide Markus on the travel time to and from the castles. The castles are a must see while in Munich! Just to make sure you realize what you’re getting- organized transportation to and from the castles with very nice tour information while traveling. The actual tours of the castles are an additional cost, and different tour guides (hit or miss, our Linderhof guide was great, our Neuschwanstein guide so-so).

This was an incredible trip, Daniela was a fantastic tour guide and not only is she very lovely and welcoming but she had so much fascinating information to share about all of the places which we visited. I had an amazing time visiting the two castles. I don’t drive so without this tour I would have struggled to have seen these places, and they are not easily reachable via the train. I couldn’t recommend this tour anymore! Thank you once again!
