Full description
Pulsating with energy and commerce, yet charmingly wedded to its historic past, Munich is an exciting city to visit and a charming town to walk around. On this 2-hour tour with an expert guide you will be introduced to many of its major attractions and told about some of the city’s legends. Start at the large open square of Marienplatz, dominated by the Old and New Town Hall. Stroll through the inner city and see sites such as the Frauenkirche and the former royal palaces of the Munich Residenz. Along the way you will learn about the city’s colorful 850-year history, stopping at sites that have witnessed events of not just local, but worldwide interest. See some of its famous beer halls and move on to its green attraction, the massive English Garden. Larger than New York’s Central Park, you will walk among oak and maple trees and discover where people can surf, despite being 6 hours from the nearest sea!

    Lovely & enriching experience

My guide (Martina) was a pleasant & wonderful tour. Her passion for history & architecture really shines brightly making the experience feel very authentic. My tour was scheduled in the middle of the pride festival so some areas were closed off & Martina made up the lost experiences by showing us a few unofficial locations and sharing some richly unique & informative knowledge. A great experience for the price and lets you take note of the lovely and historical sights to come back to later

The Guide was great but not time efficient

Our guide was Noel and we really liked him. He was Irish so he had lots of perspective and knowledge to share. However, the conversation got to be a little long and not enough walking was done to really cover the town as intended. He also had an afternoon appt. so he kept emphasizing that our time was short and we really didn't get to see the English Garden or Chinese pagoda and biergarten that was listed.. We got a lot of knowledge but not as much ground covered as expected. All in all, enjoyable.

    Two hours spent well

The guide was a good natured young man. It was a very small group with four people in my family and another elderly lady from Australia. The guide explained many historic events and popular local stories with good dose of humor. Highly recommended if you are short of time and very new to Munich.
