Stress free day trip to the castles! Decided to do this trip as it was Nov 30 and I was worried about driving in possible snow. Guide Jacquline gave great instruction and history on the bus. She spoke 3 languages and there was also audio guide available on the bus so no worry about misunderstandings. Lindhoff Palace was little but mighty! Would be best visited in the Spring/summer to enjoy the garden spaces which were extensive. They weren’t kidding about the steps at Neuschwanstein! My 77 year old mother did it but was winded. We took the shuttle to Mary’s Bridge (huge line) so that we could walk downhill to the castle. There was some uphill on paved path into the castle. Once the tour began you walked up 2-3 flights of curving stairs to the first rooms. Then did this 2 more times. The tour guides were there only to provide the correct audio and make sure you stayed on pace and didn’t touch anything.
Adrián was an excellent tour guide. He took time to explain the history of the castle and of some of the towns we went through. The driver did a good job driving, and getting us to each castle with enough time to get something to eat or drink and then go on the castle tours. Overall, the tour’s timing of leaving Munich, visiting Linderhof castle, then going to Neuschwanstein castle, and returning to Munich in time for dinner or visit Christmas markets was great! I’d definitely recommend this tour!
