Loved the caves and enjoyed watching the monkeys at play! Our guide was a third generation local and eager to share his knowledge of the island. Highly recommend. Be aware that the boat ride takes an hour in each direction.

Each cave has a unique feature. One is a large Hindu Cave, the other is a Buddhist cave, and the final cave is dedicated to the God Shiva, with an immense, three-headed Shiva sculpture. After the Elephanta Caves, you will go back to Mumbai by ferry.
