Full description
Start your full-day trip from the historical city center of Naples from where you will venture to the Herculaneum ruins. After approximately 40 minutes of driving, the bus will drop you off nearby the main entrance of the ruins. You can enjoy skip-the-line entrance with your voucher, before being able to discover Herculaneum on your own. Herculaneum was the first archaeological site discovered in the 18th century, and became one of the most famous sites in the world. Nowadays, Herculaneum boasts several landmarks such as the house with the mosaic atrium, the house of the deer, the thermal spas of the forum, the house of the mosaic of Neptune and Amphitrite, which definitely deserves to be visited. Afterwards you will continue on to Mount Vesuvius, enjoying a drive through a national park that features amazing views of the Bay of Naples. The bus will climb to a height of 1,000 meters, from where you will take a walking path up to the crater where you can admire area views and learn more about local geology from the volcanological guides. Following your Mt. Vesuvius visit, you’ll head back to Naples.

Everything worked great. You don't know that from GetYourGuide any differently. We have been booking admissions and tours through GetYourGuide for several years. So far we can speak positively about bookings made. We were picked up punctually at the train station in Naples and dropped off again after the tour. It was an interesting and recommended tour.

Great trip!!! Put on good shoes and climb Vesuvius. The view is worth it and the crater is phenomenal. Herculaneum is a jewel. If you want to avoid the rush and vastness of Pompeii, choose the Herculaneum. It is much better preserved and almost all buildings are accessible. Absolutely perfect :-)

Nice view over Naples, there is not much to see at Vesuvius. Put on sturdy shoes. The ascent is a bit steep and already exhausting for older people. In between there are small kiosks where you can catch your breath. Toilets are only at the entrance and are very dirty.
