What people are saying about Mount Vernon, Virginia

Wonderful bike ride with spectacular scenery ending at Mount Vernon.

From the beautiful, historic town of Alexandria, following level terrain along the Potomac river with some wooded sections with modest hills. This was a ride that we were able to do, even though my wife and I are aged 70, with histories of knee and hip surgeries, and our granddaughters ages 8 and 12. Ending with a tour of the home of George Washington and visit to the tomb of the first President and his wife. At the tomb, because of my military service, I was asked to read Washington's prayer to the nation and lead the visitors in the Pledge of Allegiance. Our granddaughters were asked to lay a wreath. Finally, slow boat ride back to Alexandria within steps of our car. A fantastic trip.

Couples bike ride to Mount Vernon

Picked up bikes in Alexandria. Easy metro ride on blue line from DC Picked up bikes then cycled s glorious 20 Mile through beautiful Virginia, along the Potomac river, to Mount Vernon. Bike man met us there to take our bikes back. Lunch at The Inn. Stroll around the house and gardens, then boat trip back Alexandria. Excellent day out

Very enjoyable trip

Great ride but possibly to be approached with caution in 90 + degrees if you are more than middle aged and without a reasonable level of fitness. It’s about a 10-11 mile ride with a lot of ups and downs. Great fun if you are up for it though.

Very well informed guide. Very enjoyable!

Excellent and very enjoyable, beautiful and historically rewarding tour.

AMAZING! Went the "extra mile" to get us the experience we wanted.

Highly recommended. Great people. Friendly. Extra helpful.
