The path also continues across the mountain to Imlil and Toubkal, making it a useful start/finish point for hikers. Walking around the valley requires a bit of effort and good shoes and comfortable clothing, there is a bit of rock climbing here and there to reach the seven waterfalls of Setti Fatma. Challenge yourself to climb the highest peak in North Africa in 2 days. The tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Marrakech, and includes transport to and from Imlil. You will trek with a local English-speaking guide, a local cook, and mules to carry your luggage. This is a challenging walk rather than a climb, and anybody in good physical condition can reach the top. Make sure you bring your camera; the views from the summit are spectacular. Mount Toubkal 4167m is the highest peak in North Africa, and is a trekking peak involving no climbing but may involve walking in crampons or holding an ice axe for security (November to April). The itinerary has been designed for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical, but does involve some easy scrambling and snow slopes. After the first day spent trekking, you will stay at the refuge where you will spend the night, and enjoy Berber hospitality. After an early breakfast the next day, set off and reach the summit as the sun rises, rewarding you with amazing views. The views from the summit are amazing across the mountains to Marrakech to the north, and the start of the Sahara to the south. During the ascent you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, green valleys, and Berber Villages. Day 1: : Marrakech – Imlil 1740m – Toubkal Refuge 3207m. You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech, and drive towards Imlil valley from where you will start the trek. Once you are met by the local team, you will set off trekking in the valley of Aït Mizane, towards the village of Aremd then the sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch and the nearby waterfall. Continue on steep paths to the Toubkal refuge, where you will spend the night at a refuge. (5-6 hours of walking) 2 Day 2: Refuge 3207m – Toubkal summit 4167m – refuge 3207m – Imlil 1740m – Marrakech. Start the day early to reach the summit of Jbel Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa. Cross streams and make your way through the rocks. Join the plateau and take a break to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area including the plain of Marrakesh and the High Atlas in the north, and the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara to the south Once you reach the summit, gently start the way back to the bottom of the mountain and to Imlil, then to Marrakech. Around 10 to 12h walk + 1h30 drive.

Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil 1740m - Tizi Mzik pass 2479m - Red Valley - Tamsoult Refuge 2550m After breakfast in Marrakech, pick up & drive towards the high Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya & Asni, enjoy the stunning view of the villages along the valley . Arrival to Imlil (65km from Marrakech), meet the guide & multeer and then start the trek & climb Tizi Mzik pass (2479m), spectacular view over Imlil valley & Toubkal Summit, continue to Tamsoulte to visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m of hight) through juniper forest, Overnight at the Refuge, 5hrs walking. ( Imlil to Tamsoult - 11kms, up 800m and down 400m, 5-6 hours). Day 2: Tamsoult Refuge 2550m - Aguelzim Pass (3650) - Toubkal Refuge 3207m. Today is an intense day, in which we significantly increase the average altitude of the trek. Ahead of us we have the demanding ascent to the Aguelzim pass at 3450 m. The ascent is long but progressive. Once on the pass we will be able to admire the summit of Toubkal. We then descend towards the Toubkal base camp, at 3200 m. Walking time: 6h30. ( Tamsoult to Toubkal Refuge - 10 kms, up 1200m, down 300m, 6 hours ) Day 3: Toubkal Refuge 3207m - Toubkal summit 4167m - Imlil 1740m - Marrakech Up early for the climb up Toubkal (4,167 m) from where, clouds allowing, you will have wonderful views over the Atlas range and the Sahara desert. T hen a long way back down past the refuge and the well-worn path back to Imlil. This is a fairly long day with 8-9 hours of trekking, involving 900m up then almost 2,500 m back down to Imlil. You will normally be dropped off at around 5.00 pm in Marrakech. ( Toubkal Refuge to summit - 4 kms, up and down 980m, 5 hours Toubkal Refuge - 4 hours, down 1400m, 5 hours).

After breakfast on day 2, soak up the sunshine that lights up this colorful valley before heading out towards Id Issa village. Spend some time exploring then trek to Tizi Oudid mountain pass walking through Matat village along the way. Arrive at a serene walnut grove and enjoy a relaxing lunch next to the river. Finally, relax on the return journey to Marrakech, with drop-off back at your hotel in the late afternoon.

After your early morning pickup from your hotel in the city, sit back and relax on the 64-kilometer ride towards the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive at the village of Imlil (1,740m), the starting point of your hike. Head up the Tamatert Valley to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass (2,280m) via the Berber villages of Ait Souka and Tamatert. From the pass, head into the Moroccan pine forest and pick up a trail that leads to the summit of the mighty Adrar Talamrout (2,600m). At the summit of Adrar Talamrout, take your time to marvel at the view of the Imenane Valley and the Berber villages of Amskere and Ikkiss sprawling beneath you, before beginning your descent back to Imlil. Enjoy a lunch break on your way down, and a relaxed drop off back in Marrakesh.

Meet the guide in Marrakech and then hop into a van for a drive through the Agafay desert. Enjoy the scenery along the way and then arrive at the Les Terrasses d'Agafay camp. Chill out by the HEATED pool and relax in the sun. Then, eat a nice lunch under the pergola in the shade of the olive trees. Finish your 3-course meal and then decide what activities you want to do. Go horseback riding if you fancy exploring, or ride around through the desert on a quad or buggy. Cycle around on an e-bike tour if you want. Take part in a cosmetics workshop or join a pottery lesson to learn some crafts. Alternatively, go for a quiet walk in the desert. Finally, get into the van, drive to Marrakech, and arrive back at your hotel to finish the activity.

Your day will begin when you meet with your driver by the Cafe France, situated in Jamaa Elfna Square. From here, you will drive towards the Toubkal National Park. after 40min drive from Marrakech, you will be welcomed in women managed local craft cooperative. Here you will have A berber breakfast and discer the local products made by these ladies. afterwards drive to Imlil where you will meet with your mountain guide and mule and have some mint tea before heading out to walk. Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa imoula village and other villages. You will stop off in Aroumd village and have the opportunity to take in the views of ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Your guide will point out things of interest and talk to you about the Berber culture and heritage along the way. You will have the opportunity to have mint tea with a Berber family as you come down through the village and you will then enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal in a Berber family guest house. From Imlil village we go on a short trek by foot or mule between some berber villages... We shall stop at Aroumd to visit this rather singular village in the Assif Ait Mizane Valley, built seemingly house upon house, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables and surrounded by almond and walnut trees Highlights
