We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Arusha, Moshi or upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro/Arusha airports in a clean airconditioned vehicle and drive short distance to Materuni village. Materuni village is still an authentic tribal village home to the Chagga tribe and the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. We will start by a village walk to visit Materuni waterfalls, which are around a 45 mins away. On the way, learn about the culture of the Chagga tribe, village life, and the surrounding flora and fauna with your guide. Admire the breathtaking views and with luck, catch sight of the summit of Kilimanjaro, On the way trail can be slippery & muddy, best to have good hiking shoes with grip and a rain coat. When you reach the waterfalls, marvel at cascades that are more than 80-meters (262-feet) high. After enjoying the scenery we slowly return with your guide to Materuni village to experience a traditional Chagga lunch and opt to taste our local banana beer! You will be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances - a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture, You will make your own cup of coffee using traditional ways, taste local coffee and gain knowledge about Tanzania coffee Industry. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest before driving a short distance from Moshi to a Maasai village near Kilimanjaro airport. Maasai community live in small mud-thatched villages, surrounded by their cattle and smaller livestock. For hundreds of years the Maasai have roamed these lands of Tanzania, living a free, nomadic lifestyle. A highlight of your Kilimanjaro climb or safari vacation is a visit with these Maasai people. Many of the tribal villages welcome visitors to their villages to view up close their culture and lifestyle. On this day trip you will have a special opportunity to experience with Maasai Community. At the village, you experience many traditional aspects of Maasai life, but also see how the Maasai adapt to development and contact with modern civilization. All visits are planned and arranged by the Maasai themselves; they will show you their traditional Maasai dance and singing, different types of Maasai houses, traditional beads, making fire, ornaments, some bush techniques & medicine and you can also walk with their cattle on the plains before returning to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi We will spend most of the time around mount Kilimanjaro and that may guarantee high chance of seeing and taking good photos of the mountain.

You'll enjoy stunning views of Mount Meru in the distance. Camp at Shira 1 Camp on the Shira Plateau Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp - Elevation: 3,500m (11,483ft) to 3,850m (12,631ft) - Distance: 7km (4.3 miles) - Hiking Time: 3–4 hours - Habitat: Moorland A relatively short day to allow for acclimatization. The trail crosses the plateau, providing panoramic views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding landscapes. Camp at Shira 2 Camp Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower - Elevation: 3,850m (12,631ft) to 3,960m (12,992ft) (via 4,600m / 15,091ft) - Distance: 10km (6.2 miles) - Hiking Time: 7–8 hours - Habitat: Alpine Desert Climb up to Lava Tower (a volcanic rock formation) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This day offers stunning views but is challenging due to the altitude gain and descent Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp - Elevation: 3,960m (12,992ft) to 4,035m (13,238ft) - Distance: 5km (3.1 miles) - Hiking Time: 4–5 hours - Habitat: Alpine Desert The day starts with the challenging Barranco Wall, a steep scramble offering breathtaking views. BEST KILIMANJARO 1-DAY HIKE WITH CAR: SHIRA PLATEAU ITINERARY Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Moshi to the Londorossi Gate, located on the western side of Kilimanjaro. After completing the necessary registration, you’ll continue by car to the Shira Plateau, a stunning high-altitude plain situated at around 3,500 meters. Discover a stunning waterfall at the end of a beautiful hike through nature, on the slopes of Mount Meru, guided by the Kingstone Asilia Family. This waterfall is also known as Meru Waterfalls, or Temi Waterfalls. Your journey begins with our Arusha pick-up service, taking you from the city centre (or your accommodation), through peaceful, rural Tanzanian village roads, to the starting point of the hike on the slopes of Mount Meru. From here, we will hike down through lush rainforest to the river bed, enjoying a spectacular view of the valley on the way. Now fully immersed in nature, we will follow the river along the stony valley floor, crossing streams, marvelling at mossy rock formations, and the tropical wildlife. If you book this hike during the rainy season, you may find yourself wading through the water for an even more exciting and nature-filled experience! Then we will reach the majestic Napuru waterfalls, a powerful force of nature cascading down 78m to a natural pool below. You can go for a swim, or if you’re brave enough, you can even climb up to stand beneath the waterfall for the perfect photo. We'll take some time to chill here at the waterfall, and enjoy the beauty that Tanzania has to offer. BEST SINGLE DAY TOUR: 1 DAY KILIMANJARO LEMOSHO ROUTE Morning: Departure and Arrival at Lemosho Gate Depart from your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha. The drive to the Lemosho Gate takes approximately 2-3 hours. Arrive at Lemosho Gate (2,100 meters). Here, you will complete registration formalities and meet your guide and porters. Trekking Begins Start your trek from Lemosho Gate. The initial part of the trail winds through lush rainforest, which is home to diverse wildlife and plant species. Expect to see various birds and possibly monkeys along the way. Mid-Morning: Rainforest to Moorland Transition After about 2.5 hours of hiking, you will reach the end of the rainforest zone. Here, you will notice a change in vegetation as you transition into moorland. This area offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and is characterized by unique flora such as giant heathers and lobelias. Lunch Break Stop for a packed lunch at a scenic viewpoint (approximately 3,500 meters). This is an excellent opportunity to rest, hydrate, and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Meru in the distance. Afternoon: Continue Trekking Towards Shira Plateau Resume your trek towards Shira Plateau (approximately 3,850 meters). The hike takes about 2 hours through open moorland with occasional rocky sections. Arrive at Shira Plateau. Spend some time exploring this area, which provides incredible vistas of Kibo Peak (the summit) and offers opportunities for photography. Evening: Return Journey 5:30 PM: Arrive back at Lemosho Gate where you will sign out. 6:00 PM: Depart for Moshi or Arusha.
