From Nairobi: TRIP TO MOUNT LONGONOT NATONAL PARK

From Nairobi: TRIP TO MOUNT LONGONOT NATONAL PARK

Your adventure begins with pickup you from your Nairobi hotel/residence at 6:00AM. After driving for approximately 1 hour, you will begin the ascent at 6,000 feet. Like all good uphill hikes it will lull you into a sense of false security with a slow gentle rise to the first peak. This will give you the chance to get your lungs and limbs freed up for the second section, which is the best section. At the end of each section there is a rest point where you can prepare yourself for the next part of your journey. You will have started early to avoid the heat of the sun, but by the time you reach the end of the second section you will have generated plenty of your own heat. This hike is not an easy hike, but is achievable by people of average fitness. Your guide will accompany you all the way to the top. The whole tour is only about 8–9 kilometers long but very steep, so that the round-trip from the park gate to Longonot Peak takes around 4 hours. At the conclusion of your tour you will have an optional visit to Lake Naivasha for a sunset boat ride to see hippos, before your return drive to Nairobi with drop-off at your hotel or airport.

I had the best day on this tour - which ended up being just me, so felt like a private tour! The guide was really friendly, informative and super helpful for any questions/requests I had. I had a prompt pick up from my accomodation and was first taken to a viewpoint for the Great Rift Valley, then Hells Gate for a bike tour where I met other travellers, then Olkaria Geothermal Spa (which is not part of the original tour but my guide was happy to take me for a reasonable add on price!), lunch and then finally a boat ride on Lake Naivasha - which was simply beautiful and a great unique way to spot wildlife! I was dropped off at my apartment safely in the early evening - brimming full of the wonderful memories of the day! I highly recommend these guys - an affordable and friendly service! Asante sana rafikiii!

Simply excellent service from my guide Alex - he took me hiking up Mt Longonot and to the Giraffe Centre. He was professional, knowledgeable, funny, fluent in English and a pleasure to spend the day with! Pick-up was punctual and I appreciated his insights into the history and social context of Nairobi and its surrounds. I also appreciated his focus on safe driving on the crazy-busy roads. Price point offers exceptional value for money too. I cannot recommend Alex and Michoore enough!

This was a great day trip from Nairobi with David. We left early enough to beat the traffic and made it to Mt Longonot in good time. The price included the entrance fee and a guide, which was great. After I was taken for a quick lunch (at a touristy spot, but I had hiked 5+ hours so appreciated that it was fast and easy). And then to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride of one hour. Altogether, I highly recommend.

My trip was amazing and thanks to shafik our guide who were being so kind and helpful during the trip. Hopefully I could get back here and definitely will be with this tour again ✨👍🏻

Alex is a very kindness & knowledgeable guide, highly recommended
