We had an incredible day visiting both the Foursquare and Mount Gay distilleries – highly recommended for anyone visiting Barbados! Our guide Dexter made the tour extra special. He was super funny, kept the group entertained the whole time, and even made a bonus stop at Rihanna’s childhood home, which was such a cool surprise! The Foursquare Distillery was really interesting – we got to see the actual distillery in action and even had the unique chance to taste fresh sugar syrup straight from a delivery truck. It felt very authentic and hands-on. Mount Gay was equally great, with a well-done introduction video explaining the history and rum-making process. The tasting there was particularly educational – we learned how to properly hold, swirl, smell, and observe the rum before tasting it. It felt like a true masterclass. Both rum tastings were top-notch, and I came away with a much better understanding (and appreciation!) of Barbadian rum. Highly recommend!!!

We liked FourSquare better because you could see part of the production process. At Mount Gay, there was a brief explanation and a video. Both places had plenty of rum to sample 😎

All good 👍 Our guide, driver Dexter was great. We especially loved the Four Squares Tour as it was more personal and smaller groups 👍
