Full description
Ascend to the summit of the craters of Mount Etna, one of the most coveted excursions a hiker can make. Hike in full safety with an authorized alpine and volcano guide, with whom you will marvel at the beauty and wonder of the highest active volcano in Europe, at 3,340 meters above sea level.   Departing from Sapienza Refuge in Nicolosi, the cable car will first take you up 2,504 meters. From this point, you’ll ride in a 4x4 Jeep up to 2,900 meters, and at this point, your hike begins. You’ll hike 1.5 hours uphill, passing many craters and taking long pauses to take pictures and rest. There’s no feeling like being on the top of the world in this rocky, beautiful landscape with the giant sky above you. Once you reach the summit, you’ll then descend for 2 hours until you reach the cable car again, which will take you to your departure point.

The climb was very fun and educational. Everything went as described in the voucher. The trip was also easy to do with the heat and the cold on top of Mount Etna. It was an impressive view. Hearing the rumble in the mountain constantly was impressive. Our guide spoke good English and learned a lot about Etna. A few hiccups. The clothing you get (weather resistant) is nice, but given the Covid it is hygienic in my opinion to wash the clothes after taking it. The clothes had been used! Only the helmets smelled disinfected. A guide's arrogance not to wear a helmet while making it mandatory for participants is a wrong example. The routine may sneak in. Tip: Entrepreneurs from Mount Etna, walk up the mountain with a garbage bag and clean up the mess that the tourists unfortunately make. For the rest have a nice day!

Excellent hike to the top of Etna after the cable car and a 4x4 bus ascent. Extraordinary landscapes, magnificent panoramas, we were enchanted by this lunar place. Very good guide, Edoardo, speaking French, essential to travel these summits. The hike is perfect, around 5 hours. Special mention to the descents along the slopes of volcanic sand, we have the impression of skiing, but with hiking boots, very nice. Top from start to finish.

Hello. Unfortunately we could not do the tour on the planned day because the main crater was closed for safety reasons and the weather had deteriorated. Fortunately, we had planned this tour at the beginning of our vacation, so that an alternative date could be found without effort. We had the best weather that day and the tour was wonderful. One should not underestimate the distance to be covered and the difference in altitude was not so easy for everyone. But our guide Eduardo mastered these challenges wonderfully and so it was an unforgettable experience for the whole group. Not to forget: the weather conditions can change very quickly, so it is better to put on a little more warm clothing than freeze later.
