Full description

Embark on a guided trek along Mount Etna's north side. Discover the craters at the summit, wander through the forests, stare in awe at the lava streams, and admire the eruptive fractures.

Begin the trekking route along the dirt road that leads from Piano Provenzana to the summit craters of the volcano. Make a stop to see the ruins of the Hotel dell Betulle, the only visible structure that stands from the lava flow that occurred in 2002.

Along the route, take the time to visit and study several volcanic morphologies, all related to a series of eruptions that have occurred overtimef on the north side of Etna.

In particular, the flank eruptions have left the most evidence, especially the last one, which threatened the city of Linguaglossa. See the structures called Hornitos, which means, small over, and go up along the cinder cones.

Once at the summit, look over the edge of the craters and go down inside a sandy channel to get back to the starting point.

We booked the tour the day before. The entire booking process was quick and effective. Communication with the fantastic and efficient operator. There was a schedule change due to the weather. Always doing what is most convenient for the client. The excursion was fun, with explanations along the way. Nikos, the Guide, very good and kind. Very successful in the rhythm of the excursion and always attentive to customers. I give it a 10/10. I encourage everyone to take the tour. I went with my wife and 3 children ages 10, 9 and 7. Perfect

Educational excursion in the evocative landscape of Etna, accompanied by an expert guide. The 3-hour route does not present particular difficulties and is also suitable for those like me who are not familiar with the mountains, but it is still tiring, especially because of the heat and the sun. Trekking shoes are essential (the ground is slippery in some places), sunglasses and sun protection, and the poles provided on site are useful.

Nice walk among the Etna craters of the 2002 eruption. An easy climb but still with an “alpine” flavor, the descent into the sand is also fun! Our guide was Daniele, very helpful and well prepared, he answered all our questions with precision and patience! Really great experience not to be missed, we were also lucky enough to be able to admire some volcanic explosions (obviously from a distance and always in safety!)
