Okay so prepare yourself, if cardio isn’t your thing (or if you’re a smoker/vaper) it’s definitely more challenging than is described to be, it’s a heavy continuous steep incline and takes around 2 hours - The guides however don’t struggle at all and make it look super easy :’) Bring water with you or cash to buy more on the way up! Personally found 1 small bottle was not enough. BUT all that said, once you reach the top, clear sky or cloud, it’s breathtaking and rewarding. Our drivers were lovely, so informative and friendly and our group guide was SO patient and helpful, offering a hand up, always standing in front on our way down; ready to catch any unsteady steps, a great photographer, shared so much history and facts about the volcano, the nature and the surrounds. Shared stories about himself and asked us all about ourselves. Such a lovely, kind and pleasant gentleman. Felt in safe hands. Definitely recommend booking the tour through GetYourGuide.

We booked the tour to Mount Batur quite spontaneously 2 days before. Despite this, the organization has worked flawlessly. We were picked up super punctually by our driver Bagonk at our hotel in Ubud, who drove us including two other women on a direct route to the meeting point. Fortified with tea and cookies we went up the mountain. We were lucky with the weather, every step up was worth it for the amazing view! Our very considerate tour guide Nana gave us every break we needed, thanks for that! Already one of the greatest highlights from our Bali trip!

Waiting for the sunrise on top of Mount Batur was one of the best experience I’ve had in Bali! The sunrise in breathtaking. You have to wake up quite early in the morning- around 2.00 am. Our driver, Kadek was the best, very punctual and nice. After tea and coffee at the lounge we meet our guide who was amazing, we had great fun and was also suped helpful as getting on top in the dark isn’t that easy. Once arrived, he made a super breakfast with fruits, eggs and banana sandwiches. Thank you guys to made this experience so good ❤️
