Our driver Eka pick us up and gave us some water and snacks. He even had some gloves for us because we didn’t. He waited for us until the end of the Trek which was the day after at noon. Our guide Gede was extremely patient and professional with us, he helped us along the way and also were taking pictures for us. He made a fire during the night and offered us some coffee and tea so we could feel comfortable ! Thank you so much to Eka and Gede ! The Trekking is really nice to do, did not feel tired at all climbing it even thought I am a beginner. It is just long so be patient. We started at 11 pm and finished the day after at noon time. The view at the top is amazing and breathtaking ! However, the way down was really painful for me, so I do not recommend it if you don’t do some exercise at all, knees can feel very painful. Now the legs after the trekking are very painful.
Probably the greatest adventure I've ever been on, what an experience! I fell in love with Mount Agung the minute we started planning our trip to Bali and I'm so happy we conquered it! The view was stunning. Even with little to no hiking experience or equipment, (my wife did it in knock-off Converse sneakers) we managed to get up without too much trouble. Getting down was a lot harder, it physically broke the both of us. My legs still hurt 3 days later. The guide was good but his limited English was sometimes frustrating. He was extremely patient on the way up. This ended up being a good thing because we arrived earlier than we would have wanted, as it was very cold up there. On the way down he was less patient and seemed like he just wanted to get home. At the summit we saw all the other guides and most were a lot happier and better at English than ours. I'm still not sure if I had wanted to bring that extra sweater all the way to Bali just for that 1 hour I felt cold. 😂 Up 2 you.
