Arusha: Tarangire, Serengeti, & Ngorongoro Park 6-Day Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha City Serengeti Mara Safaris guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) and take you to their office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, their guides know well the country and Arusha city, so you’ll be in good hands from when you arrive to the moment you leave. Accommodation: Arusha Tourist Inn Hotel / Venice Hotel Day 2: Arusha / Moshi to Tarangire National Park After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver/guide and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals, including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. There is so much to see on this day. Accommodation: Karatu Safari Camp Lodge Day 3: Serengeti National Park After breakfast, drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro Crater. Continuing as far as the eye can see is the vast Serengeti. Serengeti means "endless plain" and more than two million wildebeest inhabit this 6900 square miles (18000 square kilometers) park. Large predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey, which migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area, along with nearly 500 species of birds. Accommodation: Africa Safari Ikoma Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Simba Camp Today, you will wake up very early in the morning for a sunrise game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later at noon, you will return back to the campsite/rest house for a brunch/lunch and then you will continue with the afternoon game drive. Later in the late afternoon, you will drive to Simba campsite in Ngorongoro for an overnight stay. Accommodation: Africa Safari Ikoma Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Today, you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. You will then travel to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. After a full-day game drive( 5 hours/ 6 hours), you can expect to be back in Arusha around 6:00 p.m. Spend the night in Arusha.
