Our guide, Ekaterina from Walks with Folks was great. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the stations. She flexed the tour to fit our plans to visit the Cosmonaut museum afterwards instead of going back to our hotel. I wish I had done the tour earlier in the week as she taught us how easy it is to use the metro. She didn't rush us at all. We had some glitches before the tour with communication. Polina did not receive the responses to her emails from me regarding the name and address of the hotel. Since they had my cell number it was no problem, though. This tour is a great way to make sure you have the opportunity to see some of the most stunning stations and a great way to orient yourself with the Metro system.
We had an amazing tour with Nikita. It was a Friday night and the city was busy but he was prepared and still took us to some amazing places. The local beer was a real treat but my favorite was definitely the vodka and snacks. It wasn't just about the drinks and food the restaurant was awesome. It was very Soviet inspired with classic memorabilia all over the walls. What a treat! I would highly recommend this tour and specifically Nikita as a guide! He spoke wonderful English and knows the history of this amazing city so well.
Our guide Katja picked us up in our hotel and we started the tour at lubyanka station. Passing the KGB building she told us about that period in time when many people were imprisoned and killed by the gouvernement. Katja told us a lot about Russian history and showed us many many beautiful stations. She really knows all the facts and figures and we got a lovely souvenir from Moscow metro. Thank you Katja for a great underground tour, we enjoyed it from the start till the end.
We had such a great time with Elena on our tour around Moscow. She was very knowledgeable about the food and drinking culture in Moscow and it was such fun trying out the vodka infusions and traditional food. By the end of it we were all friends. I also really enjoyed seeing memorabilia from Soviet times. Highly recommend!
My guide, Alexander, met me at my hotel and a little early and he started a history of the Moscow metro on our walk to the nearest station. He was friendly and full of knowledge and taught me a lot about Moscow and the history of the underground and several beautiful stations in particular.
