Full description
Start your day trip by catching the train from Moscow to the city of Tula. Meet your local guide at the train station in Tula. Begin your tour by taking a taxi with your guide to Yasnaya Polyana, also known as the Tolstoy Estate.

Upon arrival, embark on a guided tour of the estate with your guide. Learn all about Count Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy, better known as Leo, who is often cited as one of the world's greatest authors. Explore the beautiful and vast estate which is made up of 1,000 acres of forests, meadows, apple orchards, lakes, and parkland. See Tolstoy’s house which has been faithfully preserved as it was in 1910. Wander through the house and hear stories about the famous Tolstoy family.

Next, enjoy a picnic lunch comprised of local products in one of the many picturesque meadows on the estate before heading back to Tula. Upon arrival in the picturesque city, head to a local cafeteria for a taste of some authentic Russian dishes, such as pelmeni and vareniki (dumplings).

Then, walk through the city center to the famous Kremlin and hear about its amazing history. After learning more about captivating Russian history, take some time for authentic souvenir shopping with the help of your guide. Then, you’ll take a local bus back to the train station where you'll head back to Moscow after a full day of sightseeing.
