I had a wonderful time on the Glacial Lake Kayak Tour. It was a solo tour for me and Jen was such a gracious and knowledgeable host. We kayaked the Upper Trail Lake, which was a beautiful setting. I learned about Alaska Nelly and gold mining in the Moose Pass area. We took a short hike and saw some mining equipment. We also got to see the Alaska Railroad train and seaplanes taking off/landing. I felt perfectly safe the entire time and loved it! I highly recommend this tour!

Explore Alaska's majestic nature by kayak along the shores of the glacially-fed Trail Lake in Moose Pass. Our experienced guides bring this small Alaskan town’s history to life with stories of local legends like Alaska Nellie, Gold Miner Al, and Ed Estes and his lucky potato.

Less than 100 miles from Anchorage & and just 30 miles north of Seward, the Gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park, you'll meet your guide here in Moose Pass to begin your cruise along the lake in a kayak and gaze upon the passengers of the historic Alaska Railway. Take the opportunity to wave as they rumble on past, something they seem to get an absolute thrill out of every time.

Next, get a unique view of the famed, Iditarod Trail and its surrounding peaks while breathing in the fresh air of this lush, natural setting.


To finish things off, learn how a stubborn moose seems to have been at fault for the name of this friendly mountain town in the heart of the Chugach Mountains.

When you arrive in Moose Pass, park at Trail Lake Lodge, located at 33654 Depot Road. Please arrive early enough to head into Trail Lake Lodge or across the street to Estes Brother's Store to use the restroom, then meet us by the water's edge at the dock entrance behind Trail Lake Lodge.
