Only overnight guests of the Monument Valley KOA Journey can be picked up from KOA Journey. Please be ready 30 minutes before pickup time outside in front of the office. If you are being picked up from The View Hotel, please wait in front of the lobby at the Navajo loading area 15 minutes before the pickup time.

Full description
Go on an exclusive tour of Monument Valley at night and see the valley under the fluorescent lighting of the moon and stars.  Embark on this unique tour that will cover areas emphasizing the emerging qualities of the monuments' natural beauty in the luminous constellation of stars or lunar lighting.  See the greatest locations with impressive panoramas together with your guide. Visits 3-4 stops depending on photography experience, the possible sights include Forrest Gump Hill and Teardrop Arch with the best views of the valley. Learn from your guide how to use a telescope and how to use your camera best for great photos. At the end of the tour enjoy a ceremonial music performance performed by your guide.

  • Only KOA overnight guests can be picked up from KOA Campground
  • The tour is operated in an open-air safari-style vehicle with max of 12 passengers in warm weather and in an enclosed SUV vehicle with a maximum of 7 people in cold or hot weather
  • This tour is not suitable for infants aged 1 year or younger or women who are more than 5 months pregnant due to rough terrain
  • This tour is only offered when the moon and stars are at their brightest for memorable photos
  • The Tribal Park entry fee can be paid upon entry to the park

Had to switch to the sunset tour due to park restrictions. Did the back country 3 hour tour. The tour was amazing but the tour guide Larry was even better. His knowledge and love for his land was exceptional. 10/10 in all aspects. Would definitely recommend.

It was exceptional!Our guide gave us a plethora of new understanding of Navajo culture and was very knowledgeable about stargazing. He was very courteous and punctual. I would recommend his company to anyone touring Monument Valley.
