Full description

Meet your guide at 10AM on the Esplanade de l'Europe. Start with a visit to a magnificent wine estate and its Renaissance-style castle backed by its 11th century chapel and nestled in a lush garden. You will also visit the vinification cellar and the oak barrel cellar before tasting their range of white, red and rosé wines. Then, sharpen your palate and delight your taste buds with a visit to an oyster and shellfish farm. Learn about this little known farming and enjoy oysters that may still be in the water at the beginning of your visit. You'll head back to Montpellier around 1/ 1.30PM.

The winery tour was great - getting to see a smaller operation and learn about its roots made us feel like we were getting to see a "behind-the-scenes" view of this region of France. Our tour guide, I think Mark was fantastic. A perfect mix of educational and witty/sarcastic jokes. He was very educated about wine vineyards and oyster farms. This was my favorite excursion thus far in Europe. The wine and oysters were delicious and it definitely felt worth the money!
