Be picked up in Rome by a comfortable air-conditioned car or minivan. By mid-morning, you will be in the ancient Etruscan town of Montepulciano. The next stop is at the underground city, where one of Italy’s best wines, Nobile, is produced, and you will indulge in some wine tasting. Absorb views over some of Tuscany’s most beautiful vineyards before your private driver will take you out of town to a beautiful Tuscan vineyard. Stop at Pienza, with some free time for lunch. Get information on sites you may want to visit, such as the two Renaissance palaces and the beautiful Duomo. Whatever you choose to do with your time, be sure to sample Pienza’s most important product, pecorino cheese, in one of the many artisan food stores around the town. With full bags packed with wine and cheese, meet back at the car for a comfortable and scenic drive back to Rome.

After the guide provides you with some background of the area, enjoy some free time on your own. Your next stop will be to Pienza. This is one of the most beautiful Tuscan towns, a rare example of Renaissance architecture brought to completion. Have some free time for lunch and relax. In the early afternoon, continue through enchanting landscapes to reach Montalcino, famous for the finest wines in the world: Brunello di Montalcino. Experience the romance of the mighty fourteenth-century fortress rises from atop the hill.

Start by visiting Montepulciano, then head towards the first winery of the day. You will explore the vineyards, enjoy a private tour of the cellars, receive a full explanation of the wines and get to taste different DOC Val d’Orcia wines. Savour the famous Nobile di Montepulciano wine, one of the most important wines in Tuscany. Enjoy lunch at the second winery, which is also an organic agricultural farm located in the countryside surrounding Pienza. Admire the panoramic views of the Val d'Orcia valley from their farm to table restaurant, while eating authentic Italian dishes. Sample some sheep and goat cheeses made from raw milk, paired with home-made wood-oven baked bread, jam and honey. Learn about the entire process of cheese production from hand milking to the final product. Continue your tour in the afternoon with a visit to the famous town of Pienza. Spend a day within the iconic landscape of the Tuscan hills, visit Montepulciano and its historic cellars. In the afternoon, taste the famous Brunello di Montalcino. Itinerary: Meet our driver at your location and start your tour in the Tuscan hills. We will cross the hills, among vineyards, olive trees and rows of cypresses, until we reach the city of Montepulciano, to visit the "Underground Wonders" of the town. We will visit the main square of the town, the ancient Government Palace and a Historic Cellar: here you will find gigantic oak barrels, in which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC "rest". In Montepulciano you will have your first wine tasting experience with Vino Nobile, Super Tuscan and Rosso di Montepulciano. For lunch, our driver will be able to suggest a typical Tuscan farmhouse, where to have a delicious Tuscan lunch. After lunch, we will cross one of the most beautiful wine roads, between postcard hills and incredible vineyards until we arrive in Montalcino for a wine tasting in a prestigious farm, where this delicious wine has been produced for generations. In fact, this family was one of the first to start the production of Brunello and has maintained over time a very high quality and a passion that has been handed down for generations. After the visit of the cellar and an explanation on the production of Brunello, the tasting will begin. Here we will taste 5 types of wines, including Rosso di Montalcino. Two types of Brunello Docg a Super Tuscan and a delicious Rosé. At the end of the tasting, we will return to Florence.
