Montelupo Fiorentino

If you are looking for an out of binaries experience to do something new and special, you are in the right place! I will be happy to make you experience the day-life of an artisan, bringing you inside a pottery factory and then discovering the feel of clay manipulating. We first will meet in my shop in Montelupo Fiorentino, which opened 20 years ago in a historical village known all over the world for its ceramic production. Montelupo is situated precisely in the middle of Pisa and Florence so it is easily reachable by train or by car in about a half hour from both sides. It is a beautiful village and I hope you will love it as I do! From the shop we will go together to the factory where I will show you the cycle of production of Italian handmade pottery, telling you the history behind it and explaining all the techniques. If you want, there is also the possibility to design and purchase something new that will be custom-made for you by our artisans! After the factory, it will be your turn! We will go back to the shop where my father will be happy to teach you how to make your pottery piece. Don't worry if you never used a wheel, the course is funny and satisfying for everyone! And as icing on the cake, your creation will be fired and shipped to your house, to have a tangible memory of the experience but above all to have a piece of Tuscany at home!

Travel in an air-conditioned minivan. In the morning, your first stop is at the recently opened museum in Vinci, where you can admire Leonardo’s studies as an inventor and engineer. Afterward, visit Leonardo’s original house, which is a country mansion in the town of Anchiano. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, Leonardo himself will welcome you and share anecdotes of his life and work.  Complete your tour with a delicious lunch and wine tasting in a farmhouse or villa in the country. Return to Florence in the minivan.
