  • Montego Bay: Transfers to Martha Brae River Rafting

    1. Montego Bay: Transfers to Martha Brae River Rafting

Rafting down the Martha Brae River is an experience not to be missed. With transport to and from this historic river, you can soon embark on a 3-mile journey on bamboo rafts for a relaxing and soothing ride that makes it way through lush Jamaican rainforest. The town on the Martha Brae River was originally a Spanish settlement they called Rio Matibereon. Since the Falmouth Water Company introduced piped water to Falmouth in 1798, the Martha Brae has supplied the township and much of the agricultural area of Trelawny parish with water. This 2-hour river rafting activity is a very safe and pleasant experience. There are no dangerous animals in the water, and the steady current moves you steadily and comfortably along.

Amazing transportation! Even took us to the ATM multiple times and helped us with our trip. Super quick and friendly! Loved this transfer service from Montego Bay!

  • Rocklands Bird Sanctuary: 2-Hour Montego Bay Tour

    5. Rocklands Bird Sanctuary: 2-Hour Montego Bay Tour

Hand-feed hummingbirds and marvel at the variety of bird life at the Rocklands Sanctuary on a 2-hour tour from Montego Bay. The Rocklands Bird Sanctuary, located just outside Montego Bay, was owned and run for many years by Lisa Salmon, and continues to be run as a sanctuary following her death. Her nephew Fitz is now in charge, and has been associated with the site for 15 years. The sanctuary is home to thousands of birds from Jamaica and migrant birds who have flown thousands of miles to feed here. The Red-billed Streamertail and Jamaica Mango are so tame that they will come straight to a handheld bottle of sugar water and some will even sit on your finger to feed. Jamaica has 4 resident species of hummingbird, 3 of which can be found at the Rocklands Sanctuary, but the fourth, the Black-billed Streamertail, is found only on the very eastern part of the island. Put some seed on you...

We felt that Patrick was an awesome guide. He was prompt, figured the best way to get close to the port terminal so my mobility-impaired father-in-law easily reached the car. He watched over the drive and managed to avoid MOST of the pot holes on the way to the sanctuary - no easy feat! Plus he managed our time and let us know gently when it was time to head back. We LOVED Rocklands and thought the two gentlemen who visited with us and took photos with our cameras were just great. We didn't have a PLETHORA of hummingbirds come to land (one of the other hummingbirds was a bully!) but we had enough to make it interesting! I would go back and enjoy the lovely patio and gorgeous Montego Bay view.
