Board a boat for a ride on the bioluminescent lagoon to see the illumination of the water that occurs as the boat disturbs the microscopic organisms inhabiting the lagoon. On this boat ride after the sun goes down your boat captain and guide will tell you the story of the lagoon and why it glows. As your boat approaches the center of the lagoon, your captain will tell you about the folklore around swimming in the lagoon. Then you’ll have a chance to slip into the lagoon, which is less than 5 feet deep. As you swim, the water around you will begin to glow. Watch as your hands begin to sparkle as if covered in glitter. After exploring this Jamaican natural wonder, you'll be transferred back to your hotel.

With the help of your guide, you’ll climb 600 feet to the top of this magnificent waterfall that’s tiered like a wedding cake. Stop for a swim in the refreshing rock pools. With the guide’s help, it’s an easy climb that everyone can enjoy. After the falls, you’ll have a tour of the town of Ocho Rios with a stop for souvenir shopping and to enjoy a typical Jamaican lunch. Next, you’ll head off on a drive through small market towns and hills to 9 Mile, the birth and final resting place of reggae superstar Bob Marley. Hear the story of his childhood and rise to stardom. Option Bioluminescent Lagoon Cruise and Dinner As you head back towards the coast you’ll stop at the Joe James Restaurant and Art Gallery. Enjoy Mr. James’s artwork and sit sown for a Jamaican family-style dinner (included). Finish your tour with a visit to the Luminous Lagoon, inhabited by microscopic organisms that emit a phosphorescent light when the water is agitated. Shortly after sunset, you’ll board a boat that takes you across the lagoon. As the water is disturbed, you’ll see the water illuminated behind the boat. Stop to enjoy a swim and watch your body glow. Continue on through the hills of St. Elizabeth to what seems to be a small shop on the side of a long country road. You’ll board a jitney that will take you through a forest into a landscape of waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. There are 7 waterfalls in all, several of which cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards on site will indicate which areas are open for swimming. There is a natural pool that’s fed by underground and above-ground springs that is suitable for children and those not able to swim. Once you leave this tropical oasis your tour continues to the Black River on the south coast. Stop en route for a local Jamaican lunch before boarding the boat for a nature expedition on Jamaica's longest river. As you cruise the Black River, you’ll see native wildlife, including various species of birds and the Jamaican crocodile. At the end of the boat tour you’ll board the bus for the scenic drive back to Jamaica’s north coast.
