Top Tours & Activities in Montego Bay
MoBay, as it's affectionately known, brings the reggae spirit to its world-class resorts, gorgeous beaches, and historic landmarks. Here's a round-up of the best sightseeing and recreational experiences in Jamaica's most scenic city!
Built in 1770, the house is said to be haunted by the ghost of Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall! If that gives you the creeps, don't tour the colonnial mansion by night!
The bay began attracting tourists in the 20s when a British doctor declared that the water here had healing powers! Does it? All we know is that the scenery is as dazzling as ever!
Near Doctor's Cave Beach is the city's "Hip Strip." Nowadays the shops are dominated by souvenir vendors, but it also boasts some of the city's best cafés, bars, and art galleries.
The picturesque river is one of Montego Bay's top attractions. Relax on a bamboo raft and learn about Martha Brae's history and wildlife from a local guide.
If you're here for a romantic getaway then Sandals is the place to stay! Guests get free access to the pristine island beach, complete with jacuzzi, pool, Thai restaurant, and bar.
Hummingbirds descend on you upon arrival at this immersive bird sanctuary! It's home to thousands of exotic and endemic species, many of which guests can feed by hand.
The restored mansion grants visitors a glimpse at 18th-century plantation life. Tour its antiques, sugar mill, and tropical gardens, then finish with a traditional Jamaican lunch!
The temperature around Montego Bay is consistently warm year-round, but don't be fooled by the huge hotel deals throughout the summer! April until November sees Jamaica at its rainiest, and it's also prone to hurricaines. Winter is Montego Bay's peak season for a reason, so be sure to book your trip with plenty of time to spare!
Jamaica has a relatively high crime rate, but it is largely limited to certain urban neighborhoods. For the most part, the people are incredibly welcoming, and you'll have nothing to worry about at the resorts. If you choose to leave the tourist areas for whatever reason, stick to reputable tour operators and avoid flaunting your valuables.

What People Are Saying About Montego Bay
Great day out n provided with lots of additional info by Tony our guide. Slightly disappointed not to go for lunch at Usain Bolts restaurant in Kingston as advertised but did not ruin our day. Traffic in Kingston is absolute madness!!
If you have to choose one, go with Nine Mile. But, if you can do both, you should. Although this was a very long day, if you love Bob like I do, it was very much worth it! Our guide at Nine Mile was "Crazy," get him if you can! Our tour at the museum happened to be with about 15-20 high schoolers, not ideal. Wait for a smaller tour group if you can. This was a private tour with just me and my travel companion. Our guides were amazing they answered all of our questions and we had MANY! Trench Town Cultural Center provided the history of government housing in Kingston which was interesting and we got to see where Bob composed some of his most famous tunes, very cool. The staff was not overly welcoming, but it didn't bother me, as most of the tour was self-evident.
The guide was punctual, incredibly knowledgeable, and took us on a great tour. The half day tours wouldn't do this justice! I definitely recommend tossing in a few extra dollars and doing this all day adventure. As avid Marley fans we definitely weren't disappointed! Worth every penny :)
We were first time travelers to Jamaica, and getting from the airport to the resort was not part of our initial travel package. The customer service rep on the phone was very helpful, the website was extremely easy to use and the follow up communication was great. When we landed in Jamaica, it was easy and stress-free finding their desk, the staff was helpful and our wait time was just a couple minutes before we were on our way to the resort. During our drive, the driver told us about the country side, culture and what to expect at the resort.
The team was great and easy to communicate with for round trip transfer to and from the airport.
