So anyone who is considered an elderly should be prepared and see if they can physically climb to the abbey at the top. If not, just walk around at the shops nearer the bottom and outside at the bridge - it’s already an extraordinary sight.

One caveat is the marking of places on the island. It is true that on the way from the parking lot it is possible to take a map in various languages, but the points on the map are not visible in reality on site, which is a pity - it would make getting around and visiting all the attractions on the island much easier. Moreover, the exit from the abbey is also poorly marked (instead of in front of the stairs, it stands inconspicuously to the side) and without a carrier, everyone goes back through the shop.
