Monserrat is a must do while in Barcelona and the half day excursion we had planned would have been cancelled due to rain so we booked this in order to secure access; however, we were not made aware when we booked a 4:45pm excursion that most everything would close in less than an hour. It is still a beautiful place and i'm happy we got to see it but we were all disappointed that we didn't get to learn more or see more before it closed.

It was such an amazing experience. Catching the metro L1 from Glories to Espanya and getting the return ticket Montserrat and cable cart was the best experience as we were able to see the views and take pictures. Being able to have the experience at your own pace with a map and audio provided was good as you can go and see the places you want in Montserrat. Buy admission ticket and you train and cable cart was definitely cheaper

Had an incredible time visiting Montserrat. This place was breathtaking. Be prepared to get there first thing in the morning. It gets busy. The audio guide and map was confusing at first the red numbers verses the blue numbers. However we loved it. We got there at 10.00 from the metro and rail tram from the San Pau metro stop in Barcelona. I wasn’t informed about not being able to enter the Bascillica for the audio tour from 10.00 to 12.00 because of mass. Therefore out timed slot with visiting the Black Madonna was at 12.00 and when we got out the line to enter the Bascillica was already in the courtyard. We didn’t finish the audio tour. All in all we loved visiting. It was inspiring and breathtaking. If your an art lover visit the miss. If not don’t waste your time. Definitely walk the grounds and see the stairs to heaven and take in the views.
