The truffle hunting was such a a unique and beautiful experience. Our truffle hunter, Elio, had over 60 years of experience and our translator, Maria was very knowledgeable about the process. Afterwards, we met up at Mon Vino in Montforte and tasted several local wines and tasted some truffle cheese. for the cost of the wine tasting, I think the only recommendation I would have would be to add one or two more wines plus some meat to go with the cheeses. this would have made the wine tasting a better experience. other than that it was very informative. also I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a unique and cultural experience.

Full description

Enjoy an amazing truffle hunting with a professional "Trifolao" and his trained dog near Monforte d' Alba. Breathe pure air in a gorgeous wood and enjoy the intense truffle scent. Meet the hunter and his dogs, who are specially trained to sniff out truffles, you’ll have a good chance of tracking down the elusive fungi. Along the way, learn more about truffles and why they are so rare, and pick up expert tips on how to find them. The experience ends with a wine tasting paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top.
"The price for the truffle hunting experience does not include the trifulao’s fee. This fee is:

40€ per person for groups of two people

30€ per person for groups of three or more

The fee must be paid in cash directly to the Trifulao on the day of the experience, based on the total number of participants."

Wonderful experience! This was not our first truffle tour but has been the best. Elio and his dogs have a beautiful connection and with the provided translator, you can gain a lot of knowledge. The tasting after was also organized great, tasting a few beautiful wines and get some pointed knowledge. We would come again!
