Live the Prancing Horse dream firsthand as you wander around the various exhibitions dedicated to the iconic racing car. Get travel back in time as you explore the racecar's exhilarating history. Finally, discover the history and ancient tradition of the famous "black gold" of Modena with a guided tour of a balsamic vinegar factory. After your tour, enjoy some tastings paired with delicious local delicacies. On the way back to Bologna, stop for lunch at a countryside farmhouse.
Start with pickup at your hotel in either Bologna or Modena. Travel to the hills to the south and west of Bologna, which have been used for wine production for many centuries. With varying soils and microclimates, the wines produced here are remarkably varied. Enjoy the natural beauty of the region and visit 2 different producers of local wines. After sampling the various wines grown in the region, enjoy a lunch in a typical trattoria, made with fresh local products. Following your discovery of the Bologna hills, be returned to your accommodation.
Arrive in Bologna and check into your apartment or hotel. Meet the chef and enjoy a quick tour of the city's historic center followed by an aperitive and dinner in a typical trattoria. After breakfast on days 2 and 3, you will meet the chef at CIBO Cooking School at 8:30 AM and then take a historical tour en route to the Bologna market area where you'll decide what to prepare in the kitchen as you shop at the market stands. Learn how to prepare 2 delicious meals for lunch and dinner including handmade pasta. In the afternoons, choose between 3.5 hours of cooking at the school or a walking tour of Bologna City Center with your chef/guide. At 6 PM head back to the school to prepare dinner. On day 4, embark on a tour of the Fiorentini Vineyards in Castrocaro.
