Modena: Balsamic Vinegar Cellar Guided Tour

9. Modena: Balsamic Vinegar Cellar Guided Tour

Discover balsamic vinegar the king of condiments, full of secrets and traditions that are handed down generation to generation. You will have the option to follow Claudio or grandfather Franco, inside the acetaia, to discover its origin and history. From our 10 hectares of vineyards, including 5 of trebbiano modenese, we select the best grapes for the production of our balsamic vinegar. After cooking it is moved inside the barrels of each battery, where it remains to age for many years until it reaches the smallest barrel and from there it is then bottled. It is a product that requires a lot of patience. In addition to traditional balsamic vinegar, for some years now we have also been producing PGI certified balsamic vinegar with less aging but at the same time highly appreciated for its versatility and taste similar to the traditional one. Claudio then developed other condiments to try to create products very similar to traditional balsamic but which required less aging. If you want to discover the true shades , the real differences between traditional and commercial Baslamic, come and visit us.

The driver and car were wonderful. The driver was friendly, on-time, and knew where he was going. Having your own personal driver bringing you to each of the 3 locations and back to our hotel made the trip very convenient. The museum tours at Maranello and Modena + the factory tour were everything you could want as a Ferrari enthusiast. They handled the tickets so it made getting into the museums very easy. They also take you to a vineyard restaurant for lunch. The food and wine was amazing. Overall I highly recommend this tour. Regardless of whether you are a car enthusiast or not, the trip is well worth it.

If you seek the embrace of humanity while traveling, Luisa and Ilaria offer that warm hug of food, friendship and cultural understanding. Luisa’s self-proclaimed, ‘simple meal,’ was delightful, tasty and plentiful. Ilaria’s lively conversation was fun and thought provoking. We enjoyed each others’ company fully.

It was one of the most amazing time we had in Italy! Food was awesome of course but the ladies were just fantastic! We loved hanging out with these ladies and didn't want to leave . If you are in Modena you need this class!

Excellent driver and tour guide (Paolo). We really enjoyed all parts of the tour. Great assistance from Paolo all the time. Nothing to complain about. Highly recommended.

Gracious hosts with lots of family history and heritage to share. The food was fantastic.
