Forts of São Sebastião: A walking trail that passes by several fortifications from before the spanish invasions of Terceira Island, a real walk through history! In this trail it is possible to see printed on the floor, the old oxcart tracks known as Passagem das Bestas, as well as several endemic species. 7. Monte Brasil: This is a circular trail with an extension of 7.4 km, the average completion time is around 3.5 hours. In this trail takes place in Monte Brasil, surrounded by a Spanish fortress. It is possible to see several endemic species of plants. The guide will drop off all visitors in their chosen accommodations after the tour.

3 Days Excursion in Terceira island - Azores

In the first day of this excursion you'll be invited to do the hiking trail of Mistérios Negros (moderate/hard level trail, not straight), located in the interior of the island, lasting 3h, where you'll walk trough volcanic rock and a breathtaking forest of cryptomeria trees. Lunch will be included in a local restaurant and afterwards you'll have the chance to visit several natural monuments such as Gruta do Natal (a set of lava tunnels), Furnas do Enxofre (fumarolic field) and Algar do Carvão (an empty volcano). The entry tickets are included. On the second day, you will do the hiking trail of Baías da Agualva (easy level trail, linear), a trail by the north coast where you're surrounded by beautiful green fields and the sea, lasting 2h30, after we'll visit the Parque das Frechas, a natural park where you have a waterfall, lunch will be included as a picnic, and in the afternoon you will see one of the most amazing panoramic views of the island on Serra do Cume top, from where you can see one of the biggest craters of the Azores. On the third and final day of this three day excursion, you'll be able to walk through Rocha do Chambre (moderate/medium difficulty level trail) , a hiking trail which lasts for 3h, located in the interior/northern region where you'll be able to see lovely views of the hills, endemic vegetation and volcanic landscape, after you will have lunch in a local restaurant and in the afternoon visit the town of Biscoitos where you can see the famous vineyards planted on volcanic soil and the natural pools composed of volcanic rock.
