Return to Plantations was better than in years past.

Several years ago, we did the Oak Alley/Laura plantations tour. I remember it being pleasurable, but rushed. This particular outing seemed to provide ample time to both see the plantations, and wander around a bit. This was particularly important at Oak Alley, because time is needed to grab a bite for lunch. If anything, the Laura plantation tour was a little long. We could have used an extra 20 minutes to SHOP (and I'm sure the facility would have been appreciative of that as well).. But, as it worked out, the rest of our tour group was ready to go 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time (I think everyone was just tired... it's a long outing on a hot/humid day)... Trip was fun and informative... and locations were very picturesque.

We would have enjoyed it more without the school children.

We know the students need to go on field trips to go along with what they are studying but when you are on vacation you don't want to hear and see children running around like that. We would have loved more time at the Battlefield instead of a slow ride back to the dock. Suggestion block out days for school trips only.

A real authentic Southern steamboat experience

Loved having the chance to eat Southern food on an aithentic steamboat on the Mississippi. Great live jazz. Good informative commentary. Glad to be anle to see inside the engine room to see the steam-powered engine at work - on the only steamboat still operating out of New Orleans. Good for all ages and relaxing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it as a quick orientation.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it as a quick orientation for New Orleans. Our guide was a local who helped to separate fact from folk lore. We also got a good walk in while learning the history of the French Quarters.

Fun evening on the river and the food was great

The cruise was comfortable, the food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and the music was fun. We had a great time and loved the breeze off the Mississippi. All in all a fun trip. I recommend it.
