Very nice tour + tour guide. Guide was very respectful towards the elephants, something that we unfortunately didn't see with other drivers. He always kept a good distance while other drivers aimed to get as close as possible. Also always turned off the engine the moment we stopped to bother the elephants as less as possible. We saw over 50 elephants and had an amazing day!

With the grace of majestic giants and pristine tropical dry forest settings, Minneriya National Park is a perfect spot to spend a few hours witnessing one of the most astonishing wildlife spectacles on earth. 

Renowned as a prominent stopover for wandering elephants searching for food during the August and September the dry season, Minneriya National Park attracts up to 300 giants from the neighboring national parks.

Enjoy the flicker of monkeys swinging through the branches and search the forest for the sight of majestic elephants, leopards, sloth bears, mongooses, spotted deer, sambar deer, wild buffalo, porcupine and Indian pangolins. Do not miss out on this quintessential safari destination in a strikingly beautiful forest.

It was great! Asela was a brilliant guide getting us close to the elephants but also always respected their space. At one point he reversed from where we had stopped to ensure the elephants were able to follow the road crossing route they preferred as opposed to where we might have had the best view. We were delighted to see him prioritising the elephants’ wellness (and we still had amazing up close views the whole time!). He told us lots of interesting facts about the elephants, and we even saw a 5 day old baby!! We had a brilliant time :)
