We had an enthusiastic guide who could tell us a lot about the history of Cape Verde. He took us to the famous buildings and markets and told us about the people, fruits and vegetables. Really recommended to see the most important places of Mindelo with background information. We did not have a tasting of local dishes. We did have a capairinha to finish. All in all a successful excursion but without a local tasting and no visit to the museum of Cesarie Evora. We did see the house of Cesaria.

Very informative tour of the city of Mindelo. It takes you to the most representative places, including by minbus to some more difficult to reach on foot. Guide was very fluent in English. He explained well the history of the different communities which built Mindelo and was available to answer all our questions. I definitely recommend.

Nelson, our guide, was great sharing details of local sights in Mindelo. But, also provided info about other Cape Verde islands. As part of the tour we tried local corn cake with goat cheese and papaya jam and delicious juices. We bought local favorite cachupa on our own at the Cafe. Always great to try local snacks.

The visit to Mindelo was very good. Our guide was friendly and spoke very good French. We extended the visit for the full day: I enjoyed Monte Verde, but little interest for the rest of the day in my opinion.
