Full description
Start the tour at the ancient theater of Milos, located on the east side of the narrow Gulf of Milos. This structure is nestled amongst the modern villages of Tripiti and Klima, and looks down upon the largest natural port in the Mediterranean. Pass by the location where the Venus of Milos statue was discovered which now graces the museum of Louvre in Paris. Visit the catacombs of Milos, the 2nd most remarkable pre-Christian catacombs worldwide (following those of Rome) which helped to proclaim Milos as a Holy Island and World Pilgrimage Center in 2014.  Right after, explore the traditional village of Klima and see the colorful syrmata boat houses which decorate the shoreline next to the light green sea. Visit the folklore and archaeological museum in Plaka, the capital of the island. Learn about the history and the traditional life of then islanders before taking a stroll through the villages narrow streets. Continue on to Marmara and see the Panagia Korfiatissa churchyard where you can dmire the incredible panoramas over the island and take great photos. Make a short stop in Mandrakia, a scenic fisherman’s village with 2 little docks home to more colorful syrmata. Then, head over to the North side of the island to visit the archaeological site of Fylakopi Find out how this prehistoric city was the most important of its kind in the Aegean Sea. See the evidence of people living there from the early days of the Bronze Age (around 3.000 BC). After that, make a short trip to a local dairy farm to see how traditional products are made and enjoy a tasting. Spend some time relaxing and eating a traditional lunch in Pollonia, the most well-known tourist destination on the island. End the tour with an amazing visit to a local vineyard and winery where you can learn about all of the stages of making wine.
