So glad we booked for this specific trip. Our boat went out farther and got closer to the falls than the other companys seemed to. We really got the most out of this excursion. Our caption was great and overall it was a lovely trip. The coffee, tea and hot chocolate was a great addition.
What a fabulous experience - a boat cruise on Milford Sound. I can understand why it has been described as the '8th Wonder of the World' - a very unique place!!! I would highly recommend a small boat as it gets closest, almost into the waterfalls, and right out to the sea. Our guide gave lots of interesting information and is clearly knowledgeable about the area - in addition to this he was very funny, which made the commentary even more enjoyable! Free hot drinks were offered, which was an added bonus, especially on a cold morning. We opted for the early cruise and I would highly recommend this - it was so peaceful, as we were the first boat out, and we also got to see dolphins and seals. If you are driving from Te Anau, the drive is spectacular and there are so many opportunities for photo stops! This is a once in a lifetime experience and I would certainly recommend it :-)

Know before you go
- We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket as we get very close to the waterfalls and there is a chance you can get wet from the spray.
- We do not provide any food options onboard our vessels. Please feel free to bring some food along with you in a bag or backpack to enjoy whilst on your cruise.
- Please notify staff if you have a passenger with a disability, and we can organize to board the party early to avoid queueing. Please communicate any specific needs with the crew and we will do our best to accommodate.
- If a passenger is wheelchair bound, we highly suggest using the terminal restrooms prior to the cruise.
