Full description
Depart Milan on a high-speed train for the town of Domodossola, the last Italian frontier before the Swiss border. Here, you will begin your adventure on the “Green Train of the Alps.” The train will take you on a journey through the Simplon pass, one of the most beautiful crossings in Switzerland. Cutting between the Alps, your knowledgeable English-speaking guide will introduce you to the secrets of mountains and the valleys as they appear before your eyes. After around 2-hours of breathtaking panoramas, you will arrive in Spiez, on the shores of Lake Thun. Here, you will stop for lunch (not included), before departing on your cruise to Interlaken on a state of the art steamboat. Whilst crossing the lake, take a moment to snap some pictures of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, 3 famous mountains whose recognizable shapes are reflected in the light blue water of the lake. Once in the Interlaken, enjoy time to explore the picturesque architecture or take a walk around the shore, where you will be able to marvel at the hang gliders peacefully soaring over the snow capped Alps in the distance. Aside from the beautiful views, don’t forget to try some of the world’s finest Swiss chocolate at the one of the many local specialty chocolatiers that dot the town. In the late afternoon, take a train back to Domodossola before returning to Milan on an air-conditioned coach.

It was a beautiful journey. The Green Train track and scenery around and the natural beauty of Swiss valleys and mountains are difficult to be told its for our eyes only. The creator has put all the beauty and I am thankful to him for giving me this opportunity to see such a beauty. The Lake cruise is great. Interlaken is a bit costly city so try not to shop there if you are travelling from Milan.

Nice experience, but maybe a bit expensive

Our tour was generally great. It started on time. The train to Domodossola was nice and lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes. There was no WIFI on train. Some parts of the green train were inside tunnel, so nothing much to see. It took 2 hours from Domodossola to Spiez, and 1 hour from Spiez to Interlaken on the ferry. The views were amazing! We had enough time in Interlaken to see around and also eat. It is an expensive city though.

We loved this excursion! The train ride was great, and the boat ride was even BETTER! The views that you get on this trip are outstanding. IT IS TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY. We had some issues finding our tour guide. In italy, they carry around an umbrella or some object to be able to spot them. After that was found it was great. Also, we really wanted to paraglide in Interlaken and the stop in Interlaken is only 1.5 hours so you would not be able to do an excursion. Before booking, I had already read that this was a possibility so I was not disappointed. However, the city itself is great.
