The only thing that spoiled the visit, was the fact our guide was late. We and others in the party thought the only guide there at the time was ours. This turned out not to be the case, so we were early as asked, but were left wondering were our guide was. At the start time there still was no sign. When she turned up, we had to wait till she got equipment to start. This visit had already had a time change!! When we did get out of the heat into the church, after a short time we were kicked out, as the monks were arriving for prayers. Which meant we spent more time in the courtyard.

Excellent guide, congratulations to Maurizio

The tour lasts an hour in which you visit the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the cloister and finally you get to the adjacent refectory where Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper is located. We took advantage of the guided tour in English. Our guide, Maurizio, proved to be a very prepared, sociable young man, ready to give any clarification required. The impression was excellent and Leonardo's painting deserves the price of the whole tour. Finally, congratulations to the monks who protected the refectory wall with sandbags and allowed us to enjoy the view despite the damage inflicted on the entire complex during the Second World War.

The punctuality, competence and kindness of Maurizio, our guide, made our visit to the last supper and the visit of the church and cloister wonderful. He delighted the visit with his concise and precise account of the life of Leonardo da Vinci despite having little time available to make us understand his person and the reason that led him to use one technique rather than another. An experience to do absolutely and above all with Maurizio and his excellent English.
