Admire the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana's renowned collections, including iconic atrworks such as Caravaggio's Basket of fruit, the Cartoon for the School of Athens by Raphael, Brueghel's flamboyant Vase of flowers and Leonardo da Vinci's portrait of the Musician. Visit the library's 17th century reading room with original drawings from Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus. Afterwards, go to the Crypt of San Sepolcro, a medieval hypogean church, whose pavement was made using the ancient stones of the ancient city of Mediolanum: a real jouney at the heart of Milan and through the city's history!

You will start your visit from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Piazza Pio XI 2. You will exit the Pinacoteca on Piazza San Sepolcro, where the entrance of the Crypt is located. The tour ends in Piazza San Sepolcro

Know before you go

  • You will begin the visit from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Piazza Pio XI 2, and then go to the Crypt of San Sepolcro, Piazza San Sepolcro.
  • The complete tour of the Pinacoteca normally lasts 1.5 hours, whereas a visit to the crypt takes 30-40 minutes
  • The last admission to the crypt is at 5:30 PM, and it closes at 6:00 PM, please make sure you finish your visit to the Pinacoteca in time to see the crypt
  • The activity is not completely accessible for people in a wheelchair or with physical impairments since the crypt features architectural barriers. Most of the Pinacoteca exhibition rooms are wheelchair accessible (so please be advised to book for the Pinacoteca only)

Love love this museum, the building alone is worth seeing. The art was beautiful , and the library was incredible. It was so nice to just take our time and look, without being rushed with a tour group. Definitely recommend booking.
