What people are saying about Miami

A value for money taster of the vast Everglades

We were picked up right on time (10am) from the Holiday Inn which was close to the college Bayside Metromover stop and easy to find. It's about a 45 minute coach ride (airconditioned, not too cold) drive to the Everglades centre. We had 10 minutes for a quick look at the souvineers and boarded one of the boats for the 1 hour tour of the Everglades waterways. We saw 2 alligators - they swam close to the boat - and lots of great birdlife. The guide was fun and informative. After the tour we had about a 10 minute wait then saw the alligator show - about 15 minutes of a brave young alligator rescuer showing her wrestling skills and talking about her work to remove 'problem' alligators from public areas and homes. Then it was back on the bus and home. The $40 fee included 2 large glossy photos per group - one by the river before the boat trip and one after the alligator show holding a baby 'gator. As I was travelling alone, this was especially good value for money!

Bimini Is BEAUTIFUL! (You have to visit!!)

I wish I could have given you a 5-Star review. The hospitality of your crew, the comfortable boat ride, the STUNNING Bimini resort and the excellent service from the super friendly island staff members was excellent! BUT I had to give you 4-Stars because your Port of Miami staff allowed a family to board the boat without required documentation thus causing a 2 hour delay while the Police were called to sort out the problem. The family who did not provide required travel papers should have never been allowed on the boat so that the remaining guests did not miss out on TWO hours of our scheduled cruise. Other than that major issue our day in Bimini was amazing!

Everglades Adventure Tour was educational

The tour began with the airboat tour with Mark as our Captain. He is extremely knowledgeable about the reason this particular area was developed as it was thought to be a swamp which was being dredged by the Army Core of Engineers. It turned out not to be a swamp because of the water supply. He was able to locate the alligators as well as Iguanas which he said were not native to area as they were probably left by people who no longer wanted to take care of them. He described the plants growing in the water as well as the tall grass growing out of the water. He made the tour fun and enjoyable.

You're typical tourist experience, but worth it.

Overall it was a good experience. The traffic was backed up due to an accident, but that is out of Splashdown's control. The bus was covered from the sun, which was nice. The tour was still hot, but there was a bit of a breeze. The hostess was very nice, knowledgeable and entertaining. I really appreciated seeing the million dollar homes up close!
