Full description

Discover the majestic pyramids of Teotihuacan on an early-morning tour departing from Mexico City. Explore the site with your guide and learn more about the pre-Hispanic history of Mexico.

After being collected from the lobby of your hotel by minibus, you will be taken to the archeological site of Teotihuacan, where you’ll marvel at some of the most impressive pyramids in the world.

You can see the Sun and Moon pyramids, visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, walk through the Avenue of the Dead, and much more. You will then be taken to a clay workshop where you will learn everything about the pulque, silver, and clay processes, manufactured by local people.

Whilst there you will also learn about how all these activities were done years ago, and you will be even invited to taste some tequila, mezcal, and pulque. Following this, you can enjoy delicious Mexican food and drinks (not included) during an allocated short break. Your tour will then conclude with you being taken back to your hotel or preferred nearby location at around 3:00 PM.

The site itself is sublime and unforgettable. You will not regret making time for this. Our guide Gerardo was a trained historian who had both a tremendous depth of knowledge and an affable professionalism that combined to make our visit enjoyable and highly educational. He also offered some helpful advice about how to fruitfully and safely use the rest of our time in CDMX. The tour group was ten people total, a perfect size.

We had a wonderful tour with Ines, our tour guide, and Joel, our driver. The pick up from our Airbnb was very easy. During the drive, Ines gave us lots of interesting information relevant to the sites we visited. She also told us more information at each site. We felt we had plenty of time to spend at each location and did not feel rushed. We also got back to Mexico City with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of our day. Tips: Bring sunscreen, wear layers for the colder mornings, enjoy the tequila shots, be prepared to buy goodies at the obsidian store! And if you get carsick, don’t sit in the back of the van (it gets bumpy). Would definitely recommend this tour!

We're so glad we chose to work with this guide service when visiting Teotihuacan. The site would have been interesting, but honestly just strange piles of rocks without the excellent narration and deep history provided by "Get Your Guide". We learned so much about the culture and significance of these places and the ancient people who built them. The guides also provided amazing details about Mexico City and the region that added to our appreciation of the community and geography surrounding us during our visit. Rafael and Francisco were professional, knowledgeable and very friendly.
