Amazing hike! Nevado de Toluca is an absolutely incredible place and our guide, Cesar, did a fantastic job. He explained everything very well and was very knowledgeable of the area. He also checked in very frequently to make sure everyone was doing okay. Everything was timely and the company provided everything they said they would. My only suggestion is that the description of the should mention that 200m of very steep vertical rock climbing is necessary to reach the peak. The description only mentions that you need to be physically fit. Although my partner and I are fit and could’ve made the peak physically it wasn’t something I was mentally prepared for and I’m not a fan of heights so we were unable to make the peak although I did attempt it. We were still able to hike around the lakes and to another peak but I think that should be mentioned and maybe offer different hikes to different groups as some people may enjoy the climbing while others may not.

Sergio was an amazing guide! We were lucky and the only ones that day, so we had a private tour with him. He always made sure that we're ok, asked if we needed breaks & told us many interesting facts about the area. Such a nice guy :) Little tip; if you don't have hiking boots and consider wearing your sneakers instead, it's doable, but we are very glad to have rented boots with them in the end. It's not expensive and the trail is very slippery and dusty. You will have dirt/rocks up to your ankles. The tour itself is beautiful and as long as you have a certain physical fitness, demanding, but not too hard.
