Mexico City: Xochimilco Boat Tour with Meal and Drinks

We’re a British couple in our twenties and we really enjoyed our trip with Visit Xochimilco. We chose to book in order to take the stress out of organising our own boat and finding a reputable operator. Beforehand the information provided by manager Eddie was clear and reassuring. He was flexible with a last-minute slot change too. Our guide Omar was fun. He led activities throughout the trip centered around drinking including a lively game of Mexican bingo. Note they also provide soft drinks and water. The tour included a stop at a casual restaurant on a lawn overlooking the canal. Food was included in the ticket and Omar handled the ordering. Drinks during the tour were abundant so we felt it was good value for money. I would have liked a bit more history of the area to be involved as standard, but Omar was approachable and answered our questions. Overall, we’d recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and hassle free way to experience a local tradition in CDMX.

We were a bit unsure if this experience would suit our family, as we initially thought it might be more of a wild party scene. However, it turned out to be a fantastic time for everyone! The experience was well-balanced, and we were able to enjoy the fun, lively atmosphere without it being over the top. Our host, Luis, was incredible—he truly made the experience unforgettable. He kept us engaged with games, stories, and tons of energy, all while showing us the highlights of Xochimilco. Without his enthusiasm and guidance, it just wouldn’t have been the same. I can’t recommend him enough for making the whole day memorable! This boat tour exceeded our expectations, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone, even families, looking for a unique and entertaining way to experience Xochimilco!
