Try market eateries, and learn about local modern and pre-hispanic food. Then, uncover secrets of sorcery at Mercado de Sonora. See the diverse spiritual beliefs present in this country, as well as the natural healing traditions. Watch out for the very unique and sometimes shocking animal section. Next, wander through the oldest neighborhood in town, where the city was founded in the 14th century. Indulge in fresh tortillas and tacos. Visit ancient houses and churches, and witness the diversity of colonial architecture. Take a trip to one of the city's oldest pulquerias and experience an authentic Mexican scene, while you try traditional drinks. Walk to the oldest cantina in Mexico and enjoy a beer while listening to traditional music. Hear the story of this bar and its role in shaping Mexico's cultural life. Nicolas was my guide today. We had a wonderful conversation, he is very knowledgeable, open and friendly. There was so much covered, from the markets to small hidden gems of churches, churches, the ruins of Templo Mejor. So much history was covered. I have been to Mexico City and seen various aspects of the city. However, this walking adventure help a vast amount of new information for me. Thank you. I'm so happy I chose to do this tour.
