I had an incredible experience on the butterfly sanctuary excursion! Our guide, Peter, was fantastic—patient, knowledgeable, and attentive, especially during a challenging hike with dramatic elevation changes. He ensured everyone was comfortable, taking frequent breaks for the group to keep up and enjoy the surroundings. The tour is run by Peter and his wife, Lidia (who shares my name, so I’m a bit biased!), and their teamwork really shows. They make sure everyone is well-informed about what to expect before the tour starts. The 3-hour drive to the sanctuary was made even more enjoyable with comfort breaks and Peter’s detailed explanations about the butterfly life cycle. This tour offers a perfect blend of education, adventure, and personal care. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in nature and butterflies—it was truly a memorable experience!

Our Certified and Expert tour guide will accompany you to share cultural and ecological information, so you can get to know and enjoy your tour in a pleasant and reliable way.
We will start the tour early in the morning to make the most of the day. Lunch time will be the opportunity to enjoy the local gastronomy. Lunch at the sanctuary will be between 1.30pm. Be part of this event of nature that every year comes to central Mexico.

* Mountain altitude and hike from 2800 meters to 3300 meters above sea level.
* Travel time from Mexico City to the Sanctuary is 3.5hrs approximately, and 3.5hrs transfer back as well, consider long trip.
* Bring cash to pay for food and personal purchases.
* Every person pays.
* Bring clothes for morning and afternoon cold, long pants, sweater and jacket.
* Pets are not allowed.
* No babies allowed.
