What People Are Saying About Mexico City
I really enjoyed the tour, the guide and the driver were great and quite accommodating.
The early pick up allowed our group to be first on the site in the morning. This was a real treat. The guide was technically correct and well informed, but could have made a much greater attempt to interact with our group of 10. the long bus ride in the traffic can't be avoided, but the long lunch stop at a craft shop could have been. Our previous day's walking tour of the Centro Historico was a superior experience.
The tour of the pyramids was very enjoyable. I recommend going early like we did so you can enjoy the pyramids before it starts getting packed and hot if you go in the summer. Our tour guide, Leonardo, was very knowledgeable and provided us with the history of Mexico City. Climbing the pyramids was an experience I'll never forget.
It was wonderful being picked up at our hotel. The tour was excellent. The only thing we would change would be less time for lunch and more time at a site. We are budget travellers, so the lunch place was a bit high priced. We anticipated that and brought our own lunch and ate outside the restaurant which was fine. nt,
We chose this tour because it was the longest and cheapest of those on offer, and promised us a snack of fruit, cookie and bottled water. It was a bonus to be collected from our private accommodation in Condesa, outside the designated pick-up area. Our guide was knowledgable and helpful, and deepened our understanding of Mexican history and culture - this to me is the real value of a guided tour, all that knowledge included. We had plenty of time at each site, including time to climb the pyramids, and the bus was air-conditioned and comfortable. Be aware no water or food is sold within the pyramid site. Our promised snack didn't appear, and it was a very warm day, so I had to take time to walk out of the site to buy water. The usual tour-connected shop stops occur, but they were good shops to spend time in - a souvenir shop near the Shrine of Guadalupe, a souvenir shop outside the pyramids, with an excellent talk/demonstration on agaves, and a restaurant with a good buffet lunch.
