Longed to come here since I was a student.
As the Americans say: awesome. For those of use who appreciate such a huge culteral collection, this is definitely just that - awesome. To get there early means being able to actually see what you want to see, this is imperative.

Three things you should NOT miss, when visiting NYC!
The Empire State Building is without a doubt the most prestigious and best known attraction in New York City and it really lives up to this standard. Although you might get trapped waiting in line for a bit, even if you purchase this express ticket, the views from the top absolutely compensate for it (indeed, there are even short lines for the express ticket counter - although much shorter than for the regular tickets!). The Metropolitan Museum is mundane and has an astonishing collection of art that ranges from old Egyptian and pre-historic expositions to Impressionist paintings. You should bring at least a few hours to have a basic overview. In order to go into the details, probably a few weeks would not be enough! However, this is my personal highlight of the city and I see the museum every time I come to New York. Last but not least, New York and particularly Manhattan must be seen from the water, thus a cruise is a must-do!

One still has lines to contend with, but pre-paying helps a lot.
CHINA through the looking glass was fabulous...fabulous...fabulous! The fashions, the sets, the music. I wish I had rearranged my schedule to spend a day at the Met. My twin sister and I have been fashionistas since childhood. "Who did you go with" question has no Adult sibling box. Checked closest "By myself." We had a 4-night, 5-day Hudson Valley trip (flew into Albany & out of NYC) so we added 2 nights in NYC to see the new Whitney, go to One World Center's observation floor, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art's CHINA exhibit.

Good combination of three major visits in Manhattan
Maybe. a New York Pass would have been the more favorable choice but this was a good selection too.
